Cleaning Cupboards

Cupboards

Cleaning cupboards is a task everyone dreads. It’s hard to reach the tops and the greasy buildup is hard to remove. Here are a few tricks to make things go smoother.

SUPPLIES

  • Dawn Powerwash

  • multipurpose cleaner of choice

  • plastic scraper

  • cleanthing clothes of choice

  • paper towel

  • newspaper

  • ladder or stool

PROCESS

  • SPRAY

    • Remove decor from the tops of the cupboards.

    • Spray Dawn Powerwash along the top, getting a good coating.

    • Work down the whole line of cupboards to give it a chance to work before wiping away.

  • SCRAPE

    • Use the plastic scraper to remove the bulk of the gunk.

    • Often, the dusty, greasy mess will form stringy, yucky balls of goop. Dispose of them in a paper towel.

  • WIPE

    • Use a cloth to wipe away the rest of the gunk. Rinse your cloth in hot soapy water as needed. Dawn Powerwash is super sudsy.

    • Finish with a clean cloth to ensure there’s no residue. Give the tops a chance to dry before placing things back up.

  • DECOR

    • Use Dawn Powerwash or a sink of hot soapy water to wash off the decor.

    • Dry with a clean cloth.

  • PROTECT

    • Lay newspaper or waxed paper on top of the cupboards to protect the wood.

    • Next time, you can just remove the decor, change out the paper and get back to life.
